Support the Resistance at Elsipogtog

The clash at Elsipogtog has been a clash between the Mi’kmaq Nation and global capitalism itself. Months of resistance, culminating standoffs and battles with colonial police and mass arrests, galvanized support from many nations across “canada”.

Rather than attempt to summarize this conflict here in one post, i suggest readers check out the Warrior Publications blog, a source of excellent analysis and pretty complete coverage of this struggle (and many others too).

The canadian state is spending millions of dollars to defeat the Mi’kmaq Nation, not only buying police and lawyers and security as is well documented but also you can be sure buying journalists and neocolonial allies. We also need to step forward and provide money to support those arrested, the warriors and others who need money for bail and legal fees. To make a donation, people should go to this website:

If you have a moment and are handy with the old pen and paper (or more likely, the keyboard and printer), you should also consider sending a note of support to the four warriors still incarcerated:

And be sure to stay tuned, because even though SWN (the Texas-based company whose fracking the people of Elsipogtog have been resisting) has temporarily withdrawn, this and similar conflicts are not random or circumstantial, but are hardwired into kolonial kanadian kapitalism.
