  • call Federal Minister of Public Safety Bill Blair (613-995-0284) and Federal Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Marco Mendocino ¬†(613-954-1064) to say
  • Ten migrant detainees at the Laval Immigration Detention Centre are on hunger strike to demand their release. The situation is urgent and demands ¬†immediate action to ensure their safety.
  • Locking people inside this facility and taking away their freedom is unjustifiable to begin with, but to force people to remain inside in the ¬†midst of a pandemic is beyond unjust, it’s dangerous for everyone
  • I am asking for the immediate release of everyone currently detained and decent and safe housing for all of the people who are released.
  • I am also asking for an end to new detentions

Palestine: ask Trudeau to “ADD aid for Gaza and other extremely vulnerable ¬†international communities, including refugees, to ADD aid for Canada‚Äôs ¬†migrant and undocumented workers, to ADD aid for those under immigration ¬†authority, to ADD aid for Canada’s poor and marginalized.” ¬†¬† ¬†“demand Israeli authorities take immediate action to release all ¬†Palestinian child detainees in Israeli prisons due to the rapid global ¬†spread of the COVID-19 virus.” ¬†

“Palestine on Wednesday [March 25] urged Israel to immediately release over 5,000 Palestinian prisoners [“, including around 300 children,”] from ¬†its jails amidst an outbreak of COVID-19 in the country.” ¬†


“The Palestinian Prisoners‚Äô Society announced that prisoners plan to close their sections and return meals on Friday and Saturday, 20 and 21 March, in protest against the punitive measures carried out against them in the name of infection control while they are denied real resources to help ¬†prevent the spread of coronavirus.¬† Palestinian prisoners are instead demanding full sterilization, disinfection and cleaning of the prisons as well as proper health treatment for all detainees.” ¬† see also and ¬†
